"We should do Bonnie & Clyde" came the cry during a completely different conversation. It's how it usually goes, we're on a completely different topic and our minds go in a different creative direction. "Done" came the replied, instantly knowing what and how. Not just one Bonnie outfit, no no, we'll have three! First to be designed was a replica of the famous Bonnie outfit, then two slightly different versions inspired by the original. Clyde had two outfits, one from the film ward-robe of store sourced items that we have on hand for photo-shoots and film, and one designed especially for Clyde. To date we have had two photo-shoots to tell our Bonnie & Clyde's story, with the final shoot in the planning stages.
Dubbed "Bonnies N Clyde"; this mini collection consist of the 'original Bonnie', two new Bonnies and one designed Clyde. Our own designed garments made an appearance at the Hokonui Fashion Design Awards in 2022. Our two Bonnies and Clyde even making it to the front page of The Southland Times newspaper. All four garments then featured in The Colors Of Life fashion showcase held at Tuatara Cafe & Bar, after being featured in a 6 photo story layout at a mixed exhibition at The Art Attic Gallery in Invercargill in 2021.
Two years ago our 2nd Bonnie outfit (top and skirt) was sold to a client in Europe.
It's been quite a journey so far!
